Senior & Junior Sailing Skippers/Instructors

Set sail with us as an Instructor! At Sailing Scholars, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about sailing and thrive on working with children. We offer a thrilling career that's as rewarding as it is fun, with plenty of opportunities to build character along the way. As part of our dedicated team, you'll be more than a number—you'll be a vital member of our close-knit family, recognized by everyone, from peers to the Board of Directors.
 

We provide ample opportunities to sharpen your skills under the guidance of seasoned professionals. Our goal? To deliver not just a field trip but the best holistic sailing experience to our students. This means we need you to be eager, ready to go the extra mile, and develop your sailing, management, and people skills.

Please note, all staff must undergo an enhanced disclosure process (criminal record checks).

Our season:

We operaate from March until late July along the stunning Croatian coast. Full-season positions are our mainstay, with part-season and short-term roles also available. Please indicate your availability in your application.

Our educational voyages run from Monday morning to Friday afternoon, leaving you weekends to soak up the sun and explore the breathtaking beauty of Croatia at your leisure.

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognized sailing qualifications.

  • Experience in sailing instruction or coaching - If you have recently qualified, please reach out, we have positions for junior instructors.

  • Enhanced disclosure check cleared due to working predominantly with children - We will provide this as part of the hiring process.

  • Strong swimming abilities.

  • First Aid certification.

  • Ability to work well within a team and adapt to a close-knit team environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated responsibility and reliability.

  • Must be able to speak English to a CEFR C1 standard (Advanced).

Non-Essential Requirements:

  • Additional certifications or endorsements in sailing or water sports.

  • Previous experience working with children in a teaching or recreational setting.

  • Leadership or management training.

  • Multilingual abilities.

  • Customer service experience.

  • Flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • Previous experience in the travel industry.
     

Candidates are expected to meet all the essential requirements, but if they have several of the non-essential requirements, it could make them stand out in the hiring process.
